Born in 1973 in Kothanalloor, Kerala, Gigi Scaria completed his Bachelor’s degree in painting from the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram, in 1995, and his Master’s degree in the same from Jamia Millia University, New Delhi, in 1998.

Gigi Scaria’s work draws the viewer’s attention towards the painful truths of migrancy and displacement. The issue of non-belonging and unsettlement reverberate between the walls on his canvas....

This is an artist's proof, first from a limited edition of nine

This work comprises two parts, which are hooked together to form one sculpture, measuring 53.25 x 15.75 x 5 in (135 x 40 x 13 cm) and 60.75 x 11.5 x 10.5 in (154 x 29 x 26.8 cm) respectively. The first part looks like a tree trunk that stands flat on the base and tilts at an angle to support the second part which looks like a leaning stack of building blocks.
